Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care

On the Job:

Dr. John Gicking is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care and works in BluePearl’s critical care service, which cares for our most fragile and ill patients. Dr. Gicking first came to BluePearl as an intern, back when we were named Florida Veterinary Specialists. During his year-long internship program, Dr. Gicking rotated through several of the medical and surgical specialty services. After the internship, he left us for while, but returned as an emergency service veterinarian before he entered our three-year residency program in critical care.

Off Duty:

Dr. Gicking enjoys K9 sports, including agility and obedience.  He also spends time outdoors, scuba diving, and participating in competitive chili cooking.
