On the Job:

Teresa Lightfoot, DVM, ABVP-Avian Medicine, joined BluePearl in 2002.  Since 1987, Dr. Lightfoot has been a consulting veterinarian for the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary.  She has authored two exotic veterinary medicine text books.

Well recognized for her contributions, Dr. Lightfoot has received a number of awards including the Western Veterinary Conference Continuing Educator of the Year in Avian & Exotics, Florida Veterinarian of the Year; Ted Lafeber Avian Practitioner Award; Dr. Walter M. Woolf Community Service Award and the Exotic Veterinarian of the Year Award.

Dr. Lightfoot enjoys spending time with her yellow-naped Amazon named Cookie, who has been a member of her family for more than 30 years.
